Nobody has time, but everyone wants results.

We live in a society where we no longer place importance on taking care of ourselves. We are conditioned to believe that results should be fast and easy. Lose 1-2 lbs per week, they say! I am sure you have heard that tagline before. I’m going to tell you something really important, so listen closely. It’s not true. Fat loss is never linear, it’s never predictable. It’s never convenient and it sure as hell doesn’t run on your schedule, and as long as you think it’s going to take to lose weight, get comfortable with the fact that it’s going to probably take longer. How long did it take you to put the fat on your body? So why should we expect that it will take any less time to take it off? That brings me to the topic of this feature you are reading. I recently polled some members in my Metabolic Freedom Community (click button below to join). A staggering amount of people chose “Not Making Time for Healthy Habits” was the main barrier to their goals. Your goal may not be fat loss, it might be less cravings, better energy throughout the day, a better relationship with food, less digestive issues, better sleep. Whatever it is, guess what? It’s going to take time….. The time that nobody thinks they have. If you are looking to take care of yourself and mind your health, it might take some work. You might need to invest some time in it. You are going to have to prioritize it. There is no way around it. Nobody is going to do it for you. There are 3 requirements of being a human; eat, move and sleep. You have to make time to feed yourself, to move your body and get adequate sleep. I refuse to teach anyone ways to try to cut corners on the absolute necessity for those three things. Those are the foundations of being a human. So, if you want to be a badass, thriving, strong, capable, healthy human being, you need to make time for those things. It's non-negotiable. You have to do those things, not only because your human body is expecting them, but because you are an adult. It’s our adult responsibility to prepare food and feed ourselves. You might have to practice, but It has nothing to do with a program, a diet, or a “plan.” It's just a basic requirement of being an adult human being. And getting 7-8 hours of sleep and moving your body are just as important as feeding yourself. Everyone is busy, you are not the exception. Its actually part of the problem, everyone is too busy. Maybe that’s the barrier you to explore? Humans are not meant to live in chronically high stress, constantly be go-go-going, and most definitely not “hustling” day in, and day out. That’s a recipe for burn out, and misuse of your wonderfully, perfect human body. You can make the time though; you might need to change things around, you might need to say no to some things, you might need to stop over-scheduling yourself, you might have to get creative with your time, you might need to plan ahead a little. Ask yourself this; At what point in your life did your needs become less important than everyone else’s? To be placed on the back burner, while more important things filled the time? All I am asking is that you shimmy yourself to the top of priority list. Carve out a little more time in your day, in your week, for you. Commit to working on yourself, to making time for yourself. Because you are important, and so is your health. No one has to live in your body, or feel the way you do, besides you. Nobody is going to do it for you.
